'Enery the VIII I am!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE happy rock from the 60's...and I was so happy when I discovered the following video i just HAD TO share it with everyone I knew...this is one of my favorite songs and the lead singer (Peter Noone) looks absolutely adorable

Henry the VIII by Herman's Hermits:

For those of you who cannot follow cockney, here are the lyrics:

I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am

Second verse same as the first

I'm Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before
And every one was an Henry (Henry)
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry the eighth I am

H-E-N-R-Y
Henry (Henry)
Henry (Henry)
Henry the eighth I am, I am
Henry the eighth I am

Yeah!

Peter Noone is appearing at a local casino here in New Orleans next week. Maybe he'll sing that song!

Ah, I had forgotten about them. They were a fun band!

Performing in New Orleans, eh? Ah, one day I wouldn't mind living in that area.

Oh - and I LUV that you paint your toenails some crazy colors. I, for several years, have been known to paint mine crazy colors: fun shades of blue, green, and purple. People tell me a lot that I need to pain them more traditional colors. I compromised: I purchased some pink nail polish, but it's an ELECTRIC BLAZING BRIGHT PINK. Ha! I love it. It's like you can see it from a mile off.

Keep painting your nails Glow-In-the Dark!!!

I hate this song. It rings in your head like:
    John Jacob Jingle Heimer-Schmidt...
His name is my name too..

    :)

Hi, I just wandered over from Minal's blog. I love this song, it was a great blast from the past. Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember seeing this when it first aired on television. By chance I happened to see Peter Noone perform at Disneyland way back in the early 70's. He did the song then as well.

my exposure to non-indian music is fairly limited...but this one was jolly good fun:)...and the guitarist resembles 'Toby Mcguire' big time...

You know, I just can't get this interested in that song. :-) I like the Beatles later stuff so much more. The early stuff is all sappy, sappy love songs . . . <sigh> I haven't felt that way about anybody in years, so I simply much prefer the trippier, later stuff.

henry the 8th is not a sappy love song. It's a funny song :)
